Tdap Vaccination Improves for Pregnant Women

There has been a positive increase in Tdap immunization rates in woman who are pregnant.  The Tdap vaccination rate in this group was a mere 9% in 2012 and then in 2015 the vaccination rate was 54%.  This improvement, according to the CDC, is due to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices ( ACIP ) recommendations.  Although this is an important improvement more need to be vaccinated.  The recommendations are that most pregnant women receive Tdap in the 3rd trimester for each pregnancy.  READ MORE
